fourth of july

This fourth of July was a lot of fun.  I loved the little kid  bike parade at Janet and Dave's ward.  They also had a breakfast, but the parade was a lot of fun.  The flag ceremony was good also.  I think what made that even more special was hearing Rosie say the Pledge of Allegiance.  I might just be a big sap, but I love my country, I am so grateful to live here.  Yes there are things that are messed up, but most of that is from our own stupidity(I mean come on we voted for the people).  I always get teary eyed when I hear someone or I recite the Pledge of Allegiance and hear the Star Spangled Banner.  It is always humbling to think of those who gave their lives for our freedom.  But it was so sweet to hear Rosie participating!  The bike parade was so cute.  There was not any rhyme or reason to it, but by golly Johnathan was going to win.  He even ran into Kathrine  saying I didn't run into Kathrine, I ran into the train, it was in my way!  He had his eye on the prize no matter how many times I told him it was not a race!!  Then we went to Dave and Janet's for their neighborhood parade.  This year was fantastic, the fireman got out and gave the kids fireman hats.  I don't think I have ever seen the kids so happy!  We also went swimming, had a bar-b-cue, and watched fireworks.  It was a lot of fun.  I love the fireworks here, not that it compares to balboa park, but I love that we just sit and hang out and play games before it starts, not to forget the great pen war that started between Levi and Dave!
